Golf Trail Alabama

When you think of Alabama, golf may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has more than 450 holes on 11 different courses, with a total of 160 km of links for golf aficionados. These courses, scattered all across the state, include Highland oaks in Dothan, Capitol Hill in Prattville, and Grand national in Auburn-opelika; they are all easily accessible from the highway and are located less than a two-and- a-half-hour drive from each other. Flexibility is an added attraction for this tour. All the courses offer multiple starting tees and most have an inde- pendent short round to make things more interesting. Ross Bridge, one of the more recent 18-hole courses, which opened its gates in Birmingham in 2005, stretches some 7,500 m from the rear starting tees, making it the third-longest golf course in the world.

Golf Digest named the par-3 courses at magnolia Grove Golf Course in mobile the best in the country.

Alabama Golf Trail

The new york Times declared that the entire Golf Trail route offered “some of the best public golf courses on earth”, while the Wall Street Journal said that the Golf Trail could very well be the country’s greatest gift to golfers.
